Bulgogi (불고기), also known as Korean BBQ beef, is thinly sliced marinated beef in bulgogi sauce. Ddukbaegi Bulgogi is a stew made with bulgogi cooked in a Korean stoneware pot (a Ddukbaegi, also sometimes translated as a “stone bowl” in English) The combination of a sizzling Ddukbaegi and your favourite vegetables will take your Bulgogi eating experience to the next level.

Ingredient preparation

Beef
Slice the beef as thinly as possible.
Tip! If you are using a large chunk, cut it into several pieces and freeze them for about 2 hours;
frozen meat is easier to slice thinly.
Dangmyeon (Korean starch noodle)
Soak in warm water for 30 minutes.
Vegetables
Wash and cut the vegetables to appropriate sizes (as illustrated)

Cooking Ddukbaegi Bulgogi
1.Use paper towels to gently pat down the Beef in order to soak up residual blood and moisture.
2. Now make the marinade in a large bowl or container. Mix together the marinade ingredients: Soy sauce, Sugar, Minced garlic, Pepper, Sesame oil and Ginger powder.

3. Add the meat slices into the marinade and leave it in for 20 minutes.
4. Put the sliced Onions, Carrots, Spring onion and marinated Beef into the Ddukbaegi bowl.
5. Keep the Ddukbaegi on medium high heat until the beef and carrots have cooked -
this should take 10-15 minutes but check regularly.
6. When the beef and carrot is cooked pour 1/2cup(for 1serving) or 1cup(for 2servings) of Water(or Anchovy stock).
7.When it’s boiling, put the Starch noodles (Dangmyeon)in the Ddukbaegi and stir it a few times for 2-3 mins.

8. Add the Mushrooms and keep it on medium high heat until the mushrooms and have cooked (about 4-5 mins).
9. Season the soup with Salt and Pepper according to your preference.
10. When you are happy with the taste sprinkle some Spring onion on top.
11. Carefully move the Ddukbaegi to the heat resistant trivet and serve!
